Monday's Walk: 25 February 2019

Shek Harn Reserve
Shek Harn is Cantonese for big stone ditch, and this reserve at the base of the Old Man Range behind Earnscleugh has many remnants of early alluvial gold workings and Chinese dwellings. The drive is a little longer than usual - an hour to Earnscleugh followed by 20 minutes up the gravel road to Fraser Dam Road. This is classed as dry weather only but is normally easily negotiable by car. The return walk into the body of the reserve takes about 90 minutes each way, with good views of the Fraser River cascading through its gorge. Mandatory café stop in Clyde on the way home.
Starting time: 9:00 a.m.
Walk Leader: Martin Unwin
