East side of Lake Hawea towards Dingleburn and back, starting a few km past Timaru River - assuming the weather is OK otherwise plan B.

A walk around Wanaka starting from the lake front. Up by the golf course, along to the Sticky Forest and back along the lake front.

Monday`s Walk 6 July

Eastern Hills - Grandview Track ; I think !

Starting at the DOC Sandy Point car on the Tarras Road only this time we turn right out of the car park for a few yards down the road to pick up the new Eastern Hills track to the Long Gully Conservation Area and the Grandview Ridge Track. A good 4WD track up to the microwave array tower at about 950m. After lunch follow the track in the direction of Grandview to pick up the Deep Gully Track for the descent.

I see nothing in the current forecast to prevent this but it will be cool and windy so at the risk of stating the obvious take plenty warm and windproof clothing - in addition to the compulsory waterproof gear!
