Monday's Walk - 28 November 2022

Meeting first at the Roy's Bay carpark, opposite McDougall Street 0930.

The walk: there and back to Dublin Bay, starting and finishing at the Dean's Bank bike track car parking area, Albert Town Reserve.

The forecast is fine apart from morning cloud, nor'westerly, 21C.

Leader: Paul Knox

Greg Martin's memorial

There is a memorial for Greg Martin at 11am on Monday 28th November about 10 minutes walk from the car park at Glendhu Bay - at the same place as Brian Cleugh's memorial. Meet at the usual place on the front at 10:30 and we can car share up to Glendhu. Bring your own lunch as per any other walk day - we can walk towards Damper Bay afterwards. If anyone wants to say/read something about Greg that would be good.
There will be a normal walk meeting at the usual 9:30 for those walkers who never met Greg.

Monday's walk

Monday 14 November 2022

Where: Eastern Ridge-Deep Gully
Leader: Paul Knox

This is a perennial at this time of year! Meet at the Lakefront car park at 0930 (or if residing south of town and it suits, arrange with others in the area to rendezvous at the Albert Town turnoff or thereabouts.)
Travel to Sandy Point carpark (on the road to Tarras).
The tracks start across the road from the Sandy Point car park. A poled route follows Deep Gully up onto the Grandview ridge for lunch and great views over the upper Clutha valley,  before descending down the Eastern Hills Track back to the starting point. About 10.5 kms.
For those who haven't done it before, the track up gets the juices running but its not a race. And for those going to Omarama next week it's a good warm-up or a nudge to work any underused leg muscles!
Take your camera.
