Monday’s Walk 28 October

OPTION A: MINARET BURN TRACK TO COLQUHOUNS BEACH, APPROX. 14 KM RETURN.

Meet at our usual lakeside carpark.
We'll be heading out on Mt Aspiring Road, past Glendhu Bay turn right into West Wanaka Road, just before West Wanaka Station turn right again. Gates to be opened and closed, please leave gates as you'll find them!
The walk begins at Homestead Bay Carpark and starts with an intermediate grade and then a gentle undulation to Colquhouns Beach where we will have our lunch.
Allow for wet weather, possible sand flies and wet feet due to water crossing over the track!

WET WEATHER WALK OPTION B: UPPER CLUTHA RIVER TRACK FROM THE END OF STEVENSONS ROAD CARPARK TO LUGGATE PUB.

We will make this decision in the morning, depending on the weather and a car shuttle will be required.

Monday’s Walk 21 October

MILLENNIUM TRACK TO DAMPER BAY & RETURN

Meet at the usual lakeside carpark which will also be the start to our walk.
Our walk to Damper Bay is a 16 km return trip along an undulating track with beautiful lake and mountain views.
If weather conditions are really poor we may turn back earlier with a coffee stop at Edgewater Resort.

Monday Walk 14th October

FRANKTON ARM WALKWAY JOINING UP WITH JACKS POINT TRACK.

Meet up at the lakeside as per usual.The starting point for the walk will be at the foreshore at Frankton before the Kawarau Bridge.
On the main road to bridge look for historic bridge sign on left and then turn right into Boyes Cres. follow road around to the right to the parking lot.Park at toilet block.
We will walk across the bridge passing the Hilton Hotel to the Kelvin Heights Golf Course.Then take a left turn to join Jacks Point Track.It is a 16 km walk in total along the lakefront on an easy grade track.A little uphill strain at the end.
Its our intention to catch the 3.15 pm bus returning to our starting point.The bus cost will be $5 or $2 if you have a Go card.

Monday’s Walk 7 October

LITTLE CRIFFEL TRACK

We will start our walk from Larches Car Park on the Cardrona Road, 10 km from Wanaka on the left, just after green shed in paddock. Look for Historic Site sign.
We will walk across the paddocks and then through the Cardrona River, change of shoes optional.
We'll hike up a steep 4WD track with views over Upper Clutha Basin and we're not aiming for the top but will walk up until we're hungry.
Take warm and wind proof clothing.
