MONDAY’S WALK - 29th of August 2022

Destination: Gladstone Track at Lake Hawea

Meet at 9.30 am at the usual lakeside carpark.
We will drive to the Lake Hawea Camping Ground where we'll park our cars, people from lake Hawea can join us there, at approx. 9.50 am.
Our walk starts at the Lake Hawea Dam, from there we'll walk along a track that follows the foreshore in front of Lake Hawea township and carries on travelling through open farmland to John's Creek.
From here we'll continue onto Timaru Creek Road and go up a short distance to the start of Breast Hill Track. This will be our lunchstop, whilst enjoying spectacular views over the lake and surrounding mountains.
Return the same way, with an optional stop for coffee or icecream at the Lake Hawea Store/Café.
Suggested fuel contribution: $10 p.p.

Mondays Walk - 22nd August 2022

Northlake Sticky Forest Circuit

Meet at 9.30am at the waterfront car park opposite McDougall Street.

Drive to outlet Road in Northlake, take the first turn on the left into NorthLake Drive and travel up the road to Glenavon Green on your right. We will gather in the BBQ shelterer by the skate board park and tennis courts.
Albert Towner's etc can meet us here.
From here we walk to the Outlet stopping at the Grow Wanaka community Garden. From the Outlet we will walk to Penrith Park area and thence by Reserve and Sticky Forest Tracks back to the starting point.
Approximately 3 hours walking.
Some off track walking which will be wet and greasy. Please wear stout footwear and bring poles if you have them.

Monday's Walk - 15th August 2022

Kelvin Peninsular Walkway and Sculpture Trail

Meet at 9.30am at the waterfront car park opposite McDougall Street.
Drive to Frankton , pass through the Airport roundabout on State Highway 6, turn right before the traffic lights and head to the end of Bridge Street and the carpark above the Kawarau Bridge. 
We will follow the Kelvin Peninsular Walkway out to the golf course. The Sculpture Trail circumnavigates the Golf course. We will return the same way.
There are 4 sculptures: 1. Prescence by Mark Hill, 2.Kelvin Peninsular Goats  by Jeff Thompson, 3.Thru Link to Peak by Shane Woolridge (25 tons schist), 4 Wakatipu Kuikui by Mark Hill

Approximately 10K,  2 hours 40 minutes easy walking time.
Please have $15 petrol money for your driver.

The walk for the 8th August 2022 is cancelled.
With snow on the ground and more forecast over night it prudent not to be venturing out tomorrow morning.
