A polar blast is forecast for tomorrow. Just the time to snuggle into that almost forgotten puff jacket and walk a local track. Meet at Lakeside at 9.30 a.m. and we'll drive to Waterfall Creek and aim at reaching Glendhu Bay and return for coffee. An alternative is from the Cardrona River down the Clutha towards the red bridge if the southerly is strong.
My plan was originally to do the Bush Creek gully track upstream from Arrowtown. The trees there were shafts of colour a week ago when my wife and I explored the route. That will be for next week if the snow has melted.
