Monday's Walk - 8th August 2016

Cromwell gold fields

Two short historic walks in the Cromwell area. Down the east side of Lake Dunstan to Quartz Reef for a walk up to the best preserved herring-bone tailings in NZ, then on to the Bannockburn Sluicings along Felton Road. Lunch at the remains of Stewart Town above the sluicings, with the option of a post-lunch scramble up the start of the Long Gully track to a suitable viewpoint.
