Monday's Walk 15th July 2024
Destination: Bannockburn loop
Description: An 11 km loop starting and finishing at the Bannockburn goldfields carpark on Felton Road. We'll start by following the cycle track along Felton Road to the Bannockburn Bridge and the Carrick Winery, retrace our steps to the Bannockburn Arm picnic area and return via the Bannockburn goldfields and Stewart Town. Total walking time should be about three hours, with lunch at either Carrick or Bannockburn Arm depending on our timing. We do not expect any respite from the temperature inversions which have squatted over Wanaka and Cromwell for the last four days so please dress accordingly and bring a hot thermos!
