Monday's Walk 22 December 2025

Join me for the final walk of 2025. We will walk the Upper Clutha Track from Albert Town to at least the Stevenson Road Link. That is at about the 5.5 km point where we will find somewhere pleasant for lunch. 

We should be finished well before the rain arrives. 

Meet at the usual spot by the waterfront at the end of McDougall Street at 9:30.

Monday 15th Dec

The weather is against us tomorrow with strong northwesterlies and rain forecast. So the plan is to walk the Millenium track along to ironside hill and climb that if it's not too windy and return via Edgewater for a coffee. We can return at any stage if we're getting blown about or too wet.

Meet at usual place (waterfront carpark at the bottom of McDougal st) at 9.30.

Monday's walk - 8 December 2025

Bridle Track

Meet at the lake front at 9  30 am. Travel to Davis Flat and walk a well graded track. It follows the old Bridle track (the first link between Otago and Westland) through beautiful bush then up to the Look out at the Haast Pass summit for lunch - a beautiful spot and views. Return the same way. Approximately 10 kms and then Ice creams and Coffees  at Makarora.

$10 for car pool.           

If bad weather Newcastle track (in the opposite direction to last time)
